Mishaal briefs Yemeni president on latest developments

Khaled Mishaal, the political bureau chairman of Hamas, reached Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh on the telephone on Tuesday evening and briefed him on latest Palestinian developments.

The official Yemeni news agency reported that Mishaal informed Saleh of the latest inter-Palestinian reconciliation efforts.

He also explained the difficult living conditions of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip as a result of the siege imposed on the costal enclave.

Saleh, for his part, reiterated his country's backing for the Palestine people, just cause, and legitimate struggle.

Yemen had previously exerted big efforts to patch up Palestinian differences but did not succeed.
