| WEST BANK, (PIC)-- The families of six Palestinian prisoners in Jericho jail appealed to all human rights organizations to save their sons from the slow death and torture they are exposed to by interrogators from the Palestinian authority.
"The PA security apparatuses in the West Bank have been detaining our sons and children since 2008 and they are still holding them without any guilt or leveling any charge against them; they also used the worst types of physical and psychological torture, and deprived them of their most basic human rights," the families said in a joint press release on Saturday.
"In clear violation of the laws, the security apparatuses refused the decisions issued by the highest judicial authority, the high court of justice, which ordered their immediate release," they affirmed, adding that these decisions were documented by human rights organizations.
The families mentioned in their statement many serious violations committed against their sons in Jericho jails and noted that their sons have been on hunger strike since November 26, 2010 in protest at the repressive acts by PA interrogators and jailers in this prison.
The families also sent a letter in this regard to the donor parties which provide the PA with financial support and called on Arab and international human rights organizations to expose the violations committed by the PA security apparatuses in the West Bank.
In another incident, the PA preventive security kidnapped once again member of Hizb Attahrir Movement Shaher Assaf from his workplace in Salfit city after it released him two months ago.
The information office of Hizb Attahrir said that preventive security officers told Assaf's lawyer that they arrested him in order to bring him before a military court and send him to jail again, adding his client was released at the first time by a decision issued by the high court of justice.
Hizb Attahrir stressed that the prosecution of Assaf in a military court is illegal because he is civilian and must stand before civil courts. | |
